Panasonic launches “LUMIX Streaming (Beta)” software program

Japanese consumer electronics major Panasonic Corporation has reportedly announced the launch of its “LUMIX Streaming (Beta)” software program designed to offer convenience in the rapidly scaling self-streaming market. The software has been procured from the company’s existing “LUMIX Tether (Ver 1.7)” in addition to a display option to facilitate live streaming.

For the uninitiated, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company is a segment of the Panasonic Corporation of North America which is the major North American ancillary of Panasonic Corporation. The company is a specialized provider of a wide range of consumer solutions comprising LUMIX Digital Cameras, Camcorders, Technics, Cordless Phones, Blu-ray players, Home Appliances and others. This organization is considered to be among Interbrand’s Top 100 Best Global Brands of 2018 and marks a leading position in providing tech integration services to government agencies, business establishments, and consumers.

Sources claim that LUMIX Streaming has been designed for tethered shooting and enables the display of GUIs as well as control panels with live view images on the desktop. These graphic items are known for often causing hindrances when the software is used for capturing camera view for live streaming. To address this issue, Panasonic has also added a LIVE VIEW mode to the “LUMIX Streaming (Beta)” software program.

According to Panasonic, the LIVE VIEW will enable the display of camera view only making it easily readable to the separate streaming software. Additionally, users have also been given an option to show or hide these graphic items as per their requirements during the use of USB tethering.

Panasonic has stated that the “LUMIX Streaming (Beta)” software has been launched as a pre-release version and is currently under development. The company has further clarified that the software is ineligible for customer support or operational warranty. It has also provided a list of compatible models comprising DC-GH5, DC-GH5S, DC-G9, DC-S1, DC-S1H, and DC-S1R.

The company has further stated that the software’s design and specifications can be changed without giving any official notice.
