Huawei has forayed into making chipsets for PC under Kunpeng brand following the strategic partnership with Tencent Games. It is worth mentioning that the strategic partnership was confined to online platform given the rampant coronavirus epidemic.

As pre sources familiar with the knowledge of the matter, the President of Huawei Cloud and Computing BG Hou Jinlong noted that the Kunpeng ecology would be fruitful for the gaming market. Both the companies are contemplating many joint innovations and reports suggest Huawei may come up with a joint innovation laboratory with Tencent Games.

Throwing light on the happening, senior VP of Tencent Group Ma Xiaoyi stated expressed his delight to have inked a deal with Huawei and establish a joint innovation laboratory. He stressed that they would further the cooperation in games engines, mobile cloud games other facets having upsides to both the companies.

He stated that Tencent will reap benefits from Huawei Kunpeng processors with potent computing to establish prominent, low-cost and high quality mobile cloud gaming solutions. It is worth noting that Tencent has introduced Tencent Cloud Game GameMatrix and bolstered its cloud gaming platform.

Hou Jinlong, Huawei executive appeared sanguine as he was quoted saying that the next decade will be a “golden decade of innovation” in the diversified computing architecture and computing architecture that need involvement of more developer. Reports indicate that Huawei may inject investment of $200 million to boost the growth of Kunpeng.

The strategic agreement between Huawei and Tencent was announced at the Huawei Developer Conference 2020.
